Design & Technology
In an effort to equip our children with the demands of modern society they experience a wide variety of technological activities. There is much involvement with design and making in a variety of media and a large number of structured kits are used to teach basic techniques.
Our children are encouraged to design things, make things work and alter the way they work. As they progress, they are given more opportunity to identify their own tasks in order to produce more complex products.
Technology and craft areas provide all the children with the opportunity to investigate a range of materials and tools in model construction.
(Food Technology lessons take place on a regular basis)
Constructional toys are available in both the Junior and Infant classrooms. Emphasis is placed on exploring a variety of designs, self-evaluation and perseverance to achieve a worthwhile product.
